Our name says it all! We are a group of Northwest mountain enthusiasts with the knowledge and expertise to help you with whatever your outdoor need. We work with clubs, groups and organizations in the community to specifically gear our merchandise towards the Oregon and Great Northwest mountain adventurer.
A Look Inside
When visiting Oregon Mountain Community you are welcomed by friendly staff and our casual, rustic atmosphere. We have 9,000 square feet of space where you will find everything from a custom-fit backpack to skis, splitboards and some of the most sophisticated rock climing equipment the market has to offer.
Store Hours & Location
Our store is located in the heart of Portland, at 2975 NE Sandy Blvd near the 33rd street overpass on I-84. We are open 7 days a week for all your outdoor needs.
History of OMC
Oregon Mountain Community first opened in February 1971 in a 300 square foot space at 12th & Jefferson in Portland. The store quickly outgrew its space and in 1976 moved to Second & Main to a space five times the size. We now had the legroom to increase our merchandise to meet the demands of our customers. By the 1980s a new wave was sweeping over Portland and so OMC moved once again to our old town space, at 5 times the size of our previous space. With 9,000 square feet OMC grew into the specialty and technical outdoor superstore that it is today. After nearly 25 years in the Import Plaza building it was time for a fresh start and in the summer of 2004 we purchased the old Rose City Upholstery building on NE Sandy, renovated it, packed up and moved again. Our new store is located between Sandy and I-84 at 30th just West of the 33rd street overpass. Look for a large yellow building with green accents. We also have our own parking lot on the East side of the building. We cant wait to see you there!
