Despite all the variations, cross-country skiing is basically about moving fast and fluidly over easy terrain. The Madshus Lillehammer MG may be the definitive ski for that kind of fun. Nearly as smooth, fast gliding, and light as a racing ski. The traditional length has a sure-footed feel during long strides, and provides enough flotation to tromp through a few inches of new snow. The width is just enough for stability in wobbly skied-in trails, but not so wide that you feel like you are push starting a car with a dead battery. Fast, fluid, and fun, the Lillehammer also has great "Nordic" name- pronounced "lil-ya-ham-ur", not "lilla-hammer"
