With the outstanding success of the late Karhu 10th Mtn Tour, it was time for master nordic ski manufacturer Fischer to develop a competitor- The S-Bound 98. Our early tests confirm a slight difference between the 10th Mtn and the Fischer S-Bound 98. Slightly stiffer overall, there is noticeably better edge hold, yet remarkably quick at turn initiation. The grip base is a refined version of a time tested "positive" pattern; sort of a half positive, half negative thing that doesn't retard edge hold in the mid section. Best of all, the grip pattern is an insert, allowing Fischer to make the tip and tail sections out of much superior sintered polyethylene. Finally, a ski in this category that is worth hot-waxing!
