The SteriPEN Adventurer Opti with Solar Charging Case allows you to enjoy all of the features of the Adventurer Opti, only now you're free to do so wherever you find yourself. The charging case is multifunctional, acting as both a secure storage case and as the actual charger. All you have to do is clip the charging case to a pack, or set it on the ground facing the sun, and you're re-charging your included double-cell battery! The solar panel is capable of recharging 1 double-cell battery in 2-5 days, depending on conditions. You can also charge your battery using the included plug-in adapter (takes 4-6 hours). The SteriPEN Adventurer Opti is the smallest lightest weight UV water purifier on the market. The SteriPEN Adventurer Opti has a new optical sensor which doubles as a convenient LED flashlight. The SteriPEN has been independently tested at 4 universities to eliminate viruses, bacteria and protozoa.This includes Bird Flu, Giardia and Cryptosporidium - in seconds. Effective against the waterborne microbes that cause giardia, polio, diarrhea, hepatitis, typhoid fever, botulism, dysentery and cholera (just to name a few). Microbiological testing has been conducted at the University of Arizona, the University of Maine, the Oregon Health Sciences University and at Hydro-Photon. To date SteriPEN has been tested against: E. coli, Salmonella Typhimurium, Poliovirus, Rotavirus, Klebsiella terrigena, Streptococcus faecalis, Bacillus subtilis (vegitative and spore), common yeast, Coliphage MS2, Giardia and Cryptosporidum.
