Yellow or black? If you don't care, you can save a bundle. This is the '08 RCS Carbonlite Classic Plus ski, and the only difference between this one and the '09 and '10 model is the color of the ski tail. This one is Fischer's racing yellow, instead of black. The rest you know.
If you don't know, here it is. Fischer's 812 flex classic ski has a wax pocket designed as a "step function", but is best understood by describing it as a sort of bridge. The wax pocket stays easily off the snow until a certain degree of pressure is applied. Not a progressive flex, where a little bit more weight changes the length of/pressure on the wax pocket. The change when the skiers kick is applied is sudden. What is the result? The skis can be skied much softer in flex, to gain better grip, while still keeping the wax off the snow during glide. Same fast glide, lotsa grip. Fischer recommends getting these skis about 50-60% of body weight, but many have found optimal soft track performance when flexed less that 50%. Outstanding!
Fischer RCS Carbonlite Classic Plus features:-
Sidecut: 41-44-44
-
Weight: 990g/197cm
-
CFC: Computer Flex Control. Fischer examines each individual ski for residual camber, camber pressure, tip height, and wax pocket position. The computer matches available stock to create a matched pair
-
Plus base is the more universal of Fischer's two racing base materials. It has a higher carbon content that makes the base more porous for wax absorption. The factory stone grinding is excellent, but is best for -5C and above
-
Skis are flat, ie, non-NIS. All screw-mount nordic racing bindings are ok
-
Sorry- all we have in stock are soft flexes.
-
All the skis we have in stock are 38/39kg flexes. Body weight recommendation is is between 139lb (60%) and 167lb (50%). For those wanting a soft track/hard wax ski, skier weight can be as high as 185lb (45%)
